THC-P Products

Many of us have heard about cannabinoids like THC or CBD in the hemp or cannabis plant, but have you heard about one of the most recently discovered cannabinoids, THC-P? Tetrahydrocannabiphorol or THC-P is an extremely minor cannabinoid that exists only in very trace amounts inside of a cannabis plant like hemp’s chemical structure. THC-P is unique in that it works on CB1 receptors at about 31 times the rate of THC. That’s some impressive bioavailability right there. THC-P is very new in terms of our awareness of it, too. So, studies on its nature are being done as we speak.
While we’ve often thought that the psychotropic or high inducing effects of marijuana are because of the THC in the plant, it is possible that a large part of the high sensation is actually because of the THC-P. Those who consume THC-P products will often report very strong euphoric or high sensations. There are reports of those who have tried THC-P associating it with a feeling that is 10 times or more stronger than Delta 9 THC in marijuana.
When researchers checked the binding ability of THC-P to our human endocannabinoid system’s CB1 and CB2 receptors, they found that THC-P was 33 times more active than regular THC on the CB1 receptor, and 5-10 times more active than regular THC on the CB2 receptor.
The uplifting and mood boosting potential of THC-P has many reporting benefits associated with mood and pain relief. Many with chronic pain often speak about the benefits of THC-P due to its strength, which many say helps with pain relief.
Hemp-based THC products like THC-P are legal in the United States, provided they adhere to the provisions laid out in the 2018 Farm Bill and contain a total Delta 9 THC concentration that does not exceed 0.3%.
